Sandos Finesterra | Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, Mexico (Derek & Jen)

“Derek and I met the summer of my junior year of college, and his senior year. I was in a relationship at the time, so we were strictly friends who saw each other a lot due to mutual friends...which made us pretty close. I left A&M before the start of the Fall semester to go back to Oklahoma where I played college soccer. From the time I left, up until four years ago, we didn’t keep in contact besides keeping up with each other on social media. By this time, Derek had graduated and started working on the renovation of Kyle Field in College Station. I was finishing up my degree and soccer career in another state, before moving back home to San Antonio – still in the same relationship. It wasn’t until almost four years later, and by this time she was single again, I decided to visit my best friend, Ali, in College Station for the weekend. Driving in I found out that Ali had to pick up a shift until that evening, so to pass the time I tried to remember who was still in town that I may know from when I was in college. I remembered seeing pictures of Derek the day before on social media and wondered if he was still working in town, so I decided to hit up an old friend and see if he wanted to get drinks. He was in fact still in College Station and, ironically, another mutual friend was also in town, so Derek told me to come meet them at a local bar. After hanging out a bit and catching up on life, Derek found out I was single again and jokingly said, “so I still have a chance.” I laughed at his joke and rolled my eyes. Well, needless to say, the rest is history! We hung out the entire day and met up again with friends that night, hitting it off immediately and becoming inseparable since. God’s timing was everything and He knew exactly what He was doing setting us up to see each other again.

Since, we have moved to Dallas, have a pup, moved into a house, got engaged, and just got married! Our wedding in Cabo was nothing short of amazing, and we enjoyed every second of it with family and friends! As much as it feels like it flew by, we wouldn’t change a thing. Everyone who knows me knows that I am obsessed with pictures and love to capture every moment, so because of that, I knew looking into and being picky about a wedding photographer was worth our time and money. I am so thankful we came across Terrell, from a mutual friend, as he could not have accommodated us any better than he did! He captured some amazing moments I will forever cherish and be thankful for!”
