“Wes & I met in study hall of our freshman year of high school. Because we were the only two freshmen in the class, we instantly became friends. We went on our first date during junior year of high school (to a BBQ restaurant, and Wes was distracted watching sports most of the time because he was so nervous), and dated off and on a bit until we went to separate colleges. Wes went to Texas A&M, and I went to the University of Texas.

We started dating again at the end of our freshman year (May 2013), and dated until Wes proposed on November 23, 2019, at his family’s house in Charlotte, TX. Our engagement was so special. Wes surprised me with all of our closest friends and family afterwards for a party in San Antonio.”

Growing up, Wes’ grandfather nearly always ordered shrimp for him. Though he still enjoys eating shrimp, it was something I’m sure he got tired of over the years. So, on his wedding day, Wes’ mother thought it would be fun to prank him by having his meal ‘switched’ to a shrimp plate. I’ll allow the reactions of Wes and his mother tell the rest of the story.
