When we began our search for a wedding chapel, we scoured upstate South Carolina so Jessica’s grandmother in Pickens would be able to attend. We visited McKinney Chapel on a fall day full of leaves, and the leaves followed us in. We knew immediately that it was the place. The months leading up to the wedding seemed to crawl by, but the day itself was gone in a blink...and we couldn't have asked for a more wonderful blink 51 weeks after we got engaged. Our wedding was small and simple and bursting with joy, love, and antique-pink accents. The day had called for rain, but none came--the weather was gorgeous; moreso for being South Carolina in Autumn. Family came from near and far and, as far as we know, it went by perfectly. We were sent off on the journey of the rest of our lives by family with fists full of chamomile, and we hope the celebrations and adventures never cease. We were lucky enough to make a brief visit back to the site where we got engaged, a field overlooked by Table Rock, and ultimately find our way back to Jessica’s grandmother’s house in Pickens for the last of our photos for the night.
